In his capacity as a President of “The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industries”, he has solved innumerable problems and complications in the field of commerce and Industries at State and at National level, with the means of his effective factual representation before State Government and Central Government to the entire satisfaction of the sections concerned. He has organized and conducted professionally relevant 233 programmes with in his tenure of one year successfully and benevolently. It is because of this 89 renowned dignitaries and VVIPs of of National and State level visited the chamber.
It was for the first time in history of SGCCI, a Delegation of 22 Industrialists visited the Finance Minister at Delhi under the Leadership of Rupin, On the representation of Rupin, the then Finance Minister Dr. Manmohansingh reduced the Excise Duty on yarn from 45% to 25%.
During his tenure SGCCI organized four important Exhibitions namely “Yarn Mela”, “Finance Mela”, “Alternate Energy Exhibition” and “Ad Pro Exhibition”. During the “Alternate Energy Exhibition” he displayed the ‘Wind Mill’ in the Exhibition, which has given new information and vision to the city about Alternate Energy. During ‘Ad Pro Exhibition’ Chairman of Zee Mr. Subhashchandra and noted film maker Basu Bhatacharya graced the occasion. Thus the industry had been put on National level. He had a privilege to visit Israel as a part of Government Delegation under the leadership of the then Commerce Minister Shri P. Chidambaram.
